About 3va
3va is a JavaScript and TypeScript runtime built on the V8 engine. It runs scripts with a permission model in which access to the file system, network, environment variables, and child processes is denied unless explicitly granted. This lets a script be given only the capabilities needed for its task. The runtime also blocks post-install scripts, supports WebAssembly, and includes a process supervisor for managing running programs. It incorporates post-quantum cryptographic algorithms, including ML-KEM and ML-DSA, These algorithms form part of the runtime’s cryptographic capabilities. Together, these features make 3va a runtime for executing JavaScript and TypeScript with explicit control over system access, along with support for WebAssembly and process management.
