About ADB Captain
ADB Captain lets users run Android Debug Bridge commands directly on an Android phone, without a computer or root access, using a supporting service. Its terminal accepts familiar shell commands such as package management, activity control, system diagnostics, settings, and input operations. Command autocomplete draws from history, and frequently used commands can be pinned. The app also lists installed packages, separating user apps from system apps and showing a safety rating for each. A device view presents model, Android version, battery, and connection status, with reboot and screenshot actions available from the same screen. For wireless workflows, users can pair and connect to another device over Wi-Fi, save devices, reconnect with one tap, and optionally enable automatic reconnection. A live system log view can be filtered by level or text. Additional tools include installing an APK from storage, screen recording, changing Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or airplane mode, entering text, and opening links. The interface offers light and dark themes, several accent palettes, and system color support. ADB Captain is intended as an on-device control panel for Android debugging and device-management tasks. It is open source and the product information states that it has no ads, analytics, or accounts. The use of some functions depends on the supporting service used to grant ADB access. The app’s sections place command execution, app inspection, device information, wireless connections, and logs together rather than limiting the experience to a terminal. This can help users move from a command to related device details or a live log view without switching tools. The package list includes both user-installed and system packages, and the safety ratings are presented as simple guidance. Wireless device connections can be saved for later reconnection. The description identifies many device actions, but it does not establish that every operation is available on every Android version or device.
