About alter
alter is a process manager for developers that runs applications from a command line and provides a web dashboard. It can run programs written in languages such as Python, Node.js, Go, Rust, .NET, and PHP, automatically restart them after a crash, and restart them when watched files change. Processes can be grouped into namespaces for bulk control. alter streams logs in the terminal and browser, shows CPU, memory, and GPU statistics, and supports multiple server instances from one interface. The dashboard includes a browser-based terminal and a REST API. State can be saved across reboots, and process settings can be configured in TOML or JSON. alter is intended for developers and administrators who run services or development processes and need centralized control. It also supports agent assistance, notifications, tunnel management, and process cloning, bringing runtime management and diagnostics into one toolkit.
