About asar7z
asar7z is a 7-Zip plugin for opening, modifying, and creating .asar archives. ASAR is an archive format used by Electron applications to package application files. The plugin lets users inspect or edit those archives through a familiar archive-management interface instead of working with them only through application-specific tools. The product is intended for developers or technical users who need to inspect Electron application packages. Encrypted archives cannot be accessed unless the developer's encryption method is available, an explicit limitation of the format handling. Editing an application archive can affect whether the program continues to work, so users should preserve an original copy and understand the package structure before making changes. asar7z's documented purpose is handling .asar files through 7-Zip.
