About CLC Network License Manager
CLC Network License Manager hosts network licenses for compatible bioinformatics applications. When a client application starts, it checks out a license; when it closes, the license is returned for another computer to use. This allows a shared license pool to serve users at different times. Licenses for additional modules can be checked out when the first tool from a module is launched in a session. Administrators can configure access and reservations for particular users or machines, set usage limits for groups, and define how long a borrowed license may be used. Users can borrow licenses for a period when they need to work offline. The manager is designed for organizations that centrally administer software licensing across multiple workstations.
