About Command Dictate Free
Command Dictate Free is an offline dictation application for Windows. The user focuses a text field, starts recording with a keyboard shortcut, speaks, and ends recording with the same shortcut; recognized words are inserted at the cursor. Speech recognition runs locally using a bundled model, so dictation does not require an account or a cloud connection. The application can remain in the system tray and supports reusable snippets triggered by voice. It installs for the current user without administrator rights. This makes it useful for entering text in different desktop applications without copying from a separate transcription window. The text is produced on the PC, and the result depends on the speech and the recognition model’s ability to interpret it.
