About CoolTools
CoolTools is a collection of simulation models for refrigeration systems, with tools for cycle analysis, system sizing, system simulation, component calculations, and operating-efficiency evaluation. It also supports process investigations such as moist-air calculations. Each model addresses a particular engineering task in designing or evaluating refrigeration equipment. The package can compare one-stage direct-expansion and flooded cycles, calculate component sizes from general criteria, and model operating conditions for systems with known components. It also evaluates component efficiency and outlet conditions. CoolTools is described as a modern adaptation of CoolPack and is intended to support newer refrigerants and cycle models as development continues. The available information describes a set of engineering simulations rather than a single all-purpose calculator. Results depend on the selected model and the assumptions used for system data; the evidence does not enumerate all supported refrigerants or calculation methods.
