About Direct Folders
Direct Folders is a Windows utility for reaching frequently used folders more quickly. It provides shortcuts to favorite and recently used folders and adds those shortcuts to Open and Save dialogs. This lets users navigate to common locations from the file dialog they are already using, instead of repeatedly browsing through the folder hierarchy. The product information describes Direct Folders as a tool for folder access and file management, but does not specify how shortcuts are configured or which additional file operations are included. It also does not describe synchronization or support for network locations. Its documented purpose is to streamline Windows folder navigation by placing recent and favorite locations within quick reach, particularly when opening or saving files.
