About DocuWorks Viewer Light
DocuWorks Viewer Light opens and prints DocuWorks documents and binders, including the .xdw and .xbd formats. It lets users inspect these files without a DocuWorks licence. In addition to displaying document pages, it renders annotations and attachments, follows links, and can search text. Where a document contains its original data, the viewer can extract that data, and users can save a copy. The product also includes an ActiveX control for displaying DocuWorks files inside a browser. Its byte-serving support allows large documents to load a page at a time, instead of requiring the entire file to be transferred before display. These capabilities make the software useful for reading, searching, printing, and presenting existing DocuWorks materials. The supplied information does not describe document editing or creation, so the viewer should be understood as a reader rather than a full authoring tool.
