About DownTester
DownTester measures internet download speed by testing a sequence of user-selected download locations. Users can set each test to stop after a chosen time or amount of data, then let the utility move on to the next location. Comparing results across several locations can help show how download performance varies with the source being tested. After testing, results can be saved in text, HTML, XML, or CSV form or copied to the clipboard for use in another application. DownTester measures download throughput rather than overall connection quality or upload speed. Results depend on the chosen sources, network conditions, and test limits.
