About DrumlinPublisher
DrumlinPublisher converts PDF documents into an encrypted format with permission settings chosen by the publisher. It is designed for distributing protected documents to readers while controlling whether a recipient is authorized to view a file. The conversion takes place locally, so the source PDF remains on the publisher’s computer or site during preparation. After conversion, the secured files can be distributed by email, through web download links, or on physical media. Authorization is checked through a digital rights management service using authorization codes or licenses. The evidence says that reference data, rather than the source PDFs, is stored by that service. This workflow combines local document preparation with later access checks, and is intended for publishers or organizations that need to distribute protected PDF content.
