About EUROMOD
EUROMOD is a tax-benefit microsimulation model for analyzing how taxes and benefits affect household incomes and work incentives. Researchers and policy analysts can use it to calculate effects for populations in individual European Union countries and compare results across countries. A shared framework and common modeling conventions support that comparability. The platform combines the model with software for running analyses, and includes plugins and add-ons for specialized work. It is described as flexible, documented, validated, and transparent, and is used for country-specific models beyond the EU as well. EUROMOD is open source. Its role is quantitative policy analysis; interpreting results depends on the assumptions and policy data used in a particular model.
