About FanFolder
FanFolder turns a chosen folder into an animated popup on the Windows taskbar. When opened, it fans out recent items from that folder so they can be accessed without navigating through a file browser. Users can open items, use the Windows shell context menu, or drag files into another application. The folder can be local or synchronized through a cloud-storage folder, and the popup can show the latest files. The display can use several animation styles, and items can be sorted by modification date, creation date, or name. A filename pattern can filter which items appear, and users can configure the folder, item count, and display options through a tray menu or registry settings. These controls make the popup adaptable to different folders and ways of working. FanFolder is designed as a quick-access surface for folder contents, while keeping familiar Windows file actions available from the popup.
