About File Permissions Check
File Permissions Check scans file shares to identify files whose permissions differ from their parent folders. It can find files that do not inherit permissions or that have additional explicit permissions, helping administrators locate exceptions to folder-level access rules. The application can scan multiple folders, ignore system files or folders, and limit how deeply it searches. Results can be exported. Optionally, the tool can restore inheritance and remove explicit permissions from selected files, aligning them with the parent folder’s access configuration. File Permissions Check is intended for administrators reviewing permissions on shared storage. Resetting permissions can change access for users, so results should be reviewed before applying changes. The evidence establishes scanning, filtering, export, and optional inheritance reset but does not detail audit or rollback features.
