About Findra
Findra is a Windows desktop search tool that can find files by name and search within their contents. Name search uses the NTFS master file table and a change journal to keep results current, while removable drives and drives using other formats can also be searched by filename when connected. The interface presents results through a compact desktop capsule and results card. Optional content search can examine document text, including scanned PDFs, identify what appears in photos, transcribe speech in recordings, and find files similar in appearance or wording to a selected example. These features are off until enabled and require optional model downloads, which can total up to 3.7 GB. The record says files, searches, and machine information stay local, with an optional anonymous update check that can be disabled. Findra combines fast filename search with opt-in semantic search across documents, images, and recordings. The evidence describes local processing and optional models, but does not detail supported file formats beyond the examples given. Users can use simple name search without downloading the optional models.
