About handbrake
HandBrake is an open-source video transcoder for converting video into widely supported formats. It can process common multimedia files and unprotected DVD or Blu-ray sources, with outputs including MP4, MKV, and WebM containers. Supported video encoders include AV1, H.265, H.264, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, and VP9; audio options include AAC, MP3, FLAC, AC3, Opus, Vorbis, and others. Users can choose device presets or adjust encoding settings, select titles and chapters, queue multiple jobs, and add subtitles or chapter markers. Filters support tasks such as deinterlacing, denoising, cropping, and scaling. It also provides previews and supports constant-quality or average-bitrate encoding. Hardware-accelerated encoding is optional where supported. HandBrake is for converting media; it does not process copy-protected disc sources according to the supplied documentation.
