About Handy Tool
Handy Tool is a local-first dictation application for Windows. Users press a key, speak, and have the recognized text inserted into the field they were using. Transcription runs on the computer with local speech-recognition models, and GPU acceleration is available through Vulkan. A remote provider can be configured as an alternative. The tool includes push-to-talk, a transcribe-and-submit mode, and a keyboard typer for applications where pasting is blocked. It can anchor dictation to a specific window across multiple screens or Remote Desktop sessions. Handy Tool combines local transcription with flexible delivery into the user’s active workflow. The tool can target a specific window when delivering recognized speech.
