About InSearch
InSearch is a local file-search tool that finds files and searches their contents in real time. It can search plain text and logs as well as PDF, Word, and spreadsheet files. Results stream as the search proceeds, and matches can be shown by line or by time range for log content. Search options include substring matching, regular expressions, all-words, any-words, and exclusions. Users can filter by filename, extension, size, and date, and watch folders for changes such as new log entries. Results can be exported, and a folder can be searched from Windows Explorer’s right-click menu. InSearch is intended for users who need content-aware search across local files. It runs locally and supports a range of document and log formats. The combination of live results, filters, folder watching, and export makes it useful for both file discovery and investigating text inside files.
