About lait
lait is a local-first issue tracker that synchronizes work peer to peer between devices. Issues are stored as collaborative documents and synchronized using conflict-free data structures, while a local Git-backed store preserves durable project data. The system uses end-to-end encryption and a signed membership graph to control access, without relying on a central server. Users can work through a command-line interface, a terminal interface, or a local Model Context Protocol server for compatible agent tools. These interfaces share one daemon and local data store, connecting project tracking with developer workflows. lait is intended for teams that want issues to remain available offline and synchronize directly between peers; participating devices and membership settings determine who can access the project.
