About LingoGeek

LingoGeek translates Word documents, PDFs, SRT and VTT subtitles, Markdown, and plain-text files on the computer. It writes the translated copy beside the original rather than overwriting the source file. Around one hundred language pairs are available through downloadable language packs. For Word documents, the translation preserves headings, bullet lists, tables, headers, and footers. Subtitle cue numbers and timestamps are carried through unchanged. PDFs are read as text and exported as editable Word documents, so their original page layout is not rebuilt. After a language pack is downloaded once, translation can run without an internet connection. LingoGeek is intended for people who need to translate common document and subtitle formats while retaining useful structure. Its local workflow can be used offline after model packs are installed, and the PDF conversion is suited to text extraction and editing rather than exact visual reproduction.
