About MC2000
Thorlabs MC2000 software includes drivers for controlling the MC2000 and works with compatible firmware. The hardware has undergone multiple revisions, and earlier hardware series require different firmware from later versions. Compatibility is important when connecting the software to an MC2000 unit: hardware series 1.0 and 2.0 are no longer compatible with the latest firmware. Users with those revisions need to account for the version difference when choosing the appropriate control setup. Thorlabs MC2000 is intended for operating compatible MC2000 hardware from a Windows computer. Its central role is providing the drivers needed to control the device, with support dependent on the hardware revision and firmware pairing.
