About Mem Reduct
Mem Reduct is a lightweight Windows application for monitoring and cleaning system memory in real time. It can display memory usage and clear selected system caches, including working sets, standby page lists, and modified page lists. These operations can release memory for reuse, though the product notes that results vary. The application uses undocumented internal Windows features for some cleanup operations and supports Windows XP SP3 and later, with some functions available only from Windows Vista onward. Clearing caches does not necessarily improve overall performance, since Windows manages memory dynamically and may refill caches when needed. Mem Reduct’s role is memory monitoring and manual cache cleanup rather than a general performance optimizer.
