About memoir
memoir is a desktop notebook for Markdown and MDX files stored in a folder chosen by the user. It provides a library, an editor, and a rendered preview, with split editing and synchronized scrolling. The library supports folders, tags, favorites, recent notes, and heading outlines. It also renders features such as mathematical notation, diagrams, and task lists. Notes remain ordinary files that can be opened in other editors, and the product says it does not upload them or require an account or sync service. Autosave, crash-safe drafts, atomic writes, and a trash folder for deletions support the local-file workflow. It restricts paths to Markdown files inside the workspace and rejects symlinks and hidden or build directories.
