About Mongrel
Mongrel is a desktop workbench for managing databases and related developer tools. It supports more than 30 database engines, spanning different kinds of data stores, and combines database access with terminals, file transfer, container tools, Kubernetes integration, and an API client. The aim is to bring common infrastructure and data work into one application. The workbench includes SSH, Mosh, Telnet, and serial terminals, plus SFTP and SCP for transferring files. It also integrates with Docker and Podman containers and Kubernetes environments. Its API client supports HTTP, GraphQL, WebSocket, and gRPC, giving users ways to inspect and call services alongside database work. Mongrel is intended for developers and administrators who move between databases, remote systems, containers, and service APIs. Consolidating these capabilities can reduce the need to switch among separate utilities during infrastructure work. The product is proprietary and uses an annual license, with a seven-day trial available.
