About NetSentinel
NetSentinel is a Windows network diagnostic and security tool that combines device discovery, connectivity checks, and traffic analysis. It can identify local devices using network address information, monitor spanning-tree control traffic for unexpected bridge behavior, and measure broadcast or multicast traffic to help locate a source of network flooding. Other modules include connection stability logging, port and operating-system fingerprinting, DNS checks, and device behavior monitoring. A root-cause view can relate findings from several checks, while a long-term monitor tracks outages and jitter. NetSentinel is intended for network administrators investigating stability or security issues. Some packet-capture functions require administrator privileges and a capture driver, and results depend on network visibility and configuration.
