About Neuron
Neuron is a local-first knowledge workspace for Markdown and MDX notes. It stores notes as plain files on the user’s disk and adds databases, canvases, and sandboxed HTML views on top. Keeping the underlying notes in ordinary files lets users work with a structured knowledge environment while retaining direct access to the documents themselves. Databases can organize information, canvases can provide a visual workspace, and HTML views allow embedded content to be presented in a contained environment. Neuron is intended for personal knowledge management and note-based work, rather than a hosted document service. The application is described as requiring no account and collecting no telemetry, with the workspace stored locally on the computer.
