About NHS Credential Management
NHS Credential Management supports authentication for healthcare applications that use smartcard-based identity services. Its updated client can connect to the newer authentication service while preserving functions used by applications that previously depended on Java applets. This allows supported applications to work in modern browsers without relying on the older applet workflow. The product is used in an NHS identity environment and is intended to help staff access connected services with their credentials. Compatibility depends on the application and authentication setup in use. Legacy browser modes that rely on the older Java-applet connection are not supported by this workflow, so organizations using them need to use the supported authentication client and browser arrangement.
