About OBD2 FaultFinder
OBD2 FaultFinder is a diagnostic application for Windows and Linux that reads information reported by a vehicle’s OBD2 system. It can display stored, pending, and permanent trouble codes with plain-language labels, show live engine readings, and record a drive for later playback. Users can compare two recordings and review on-board self-test results, readiness monitors, misfire counts, and vehicle identification data. The application presents vehicle-reported information; it does not perform repairs or identify the cause of a fault. This makes it a tool for reviewing diagnostic data and observing changes over time, not a substitute for qualified vehicle inspection. The available readings depend on the vehicle, adapter, and connection.
