About Obsidian
Obsidian is a note-taking and knowledge-management application that stores notes as plain Markdown files in a local folder. Users can link notes, use tags, include mathematical expressions and diagrams, and embed other notes or files. An interactive graph view visualizes connections among notes, while Canvas provides a flexible space for arranging ideas and research material. A plug-in system can extend the application with additional features. Because notes use standard text files, users can access their material outside the app as well. Obsidian is suited to personal knowledge bases, project notes, and writing workflows. Optional synchronization and publishing services are separate from the core local note-taking environment.
