About OpenKara
OpenKara is a desktop karaoke application that turns songs from a user's own music library into karaoke tracks. It performs vocal separation on the device, displays synchronized lyrics, and organizes a portable local library. On-device vocal separation creates a version of a song with the vocal track reduced or removed, allowing the instrumental portion to support singing along. Synchronized lyrics provide the words in time with the music. Keeping the library local and portable lets users use their own collection within the karaoke workflow. OpenKara is intended for people who want to sing along with music they already own. Its combination of local song management, vocal separation, and timed lyrics brings karaoke preparation and playback together in a desktop application.
