About OpenPubkey SSH
OpenPubkey SSH connects SSH access management with OpenID Connect identities. Instead of relying only on long-lived SSH keys, it generates public keys that contain PK tokens based on standard OpenID Connect ID tokens. The SSH server can be configured to verify those tokens when a connection is made. OpenPubkey SSH works alongside SSH rather than replacing it, adding identity-based access to the existing connection method. This allows administrators to associate SSH access with identities managed through an OpenID Connect provider. The tool centers on creating and verifying token-bearing SSH public keys, linking established SSH workflows with identity-provider authentication. This connects identity-based access with standard SSH workflows.
