About paperq
paperq is a repository-local queue for tracking small issues encountered during software development. It is designed for coding agents to record and manage minor problems found while working in a project. The queue stores transparent Markdown records, so entries can be read as ordinary text files and remain alongside the repository they concern. The tool provides commands to add an item, claim it, mark it blocked, reopen it, resolve it, and list queued items. These states help distinguish new work from tasks someone is handling, problems that cannot yet proceed, and items that have been completed. Keeping these small issues in a queue makes them easier to return to without interrupting the main development task. paperq’s operation is deliberately local and file-based. It does not run a model, collect transcripts, start a service, or send data to a server. That makes the queue a simple coordination mechanism for recording coding-agent papercuts within a repository, while leaving the actual implementation and resolution of each issue to the developer or agent working on the project.
