About PecoFence
PecoFence organizes the Windows 11 desktop into named groups called fences. Users can place files and shortcuts into these groups, arrange related fences as tabs, and keep real folders on the desktop as live portals. Fences can appear above the active application through a shortcut, making their contents accessible without minimizing current work. Rules can automatically place new items, and layouts can be saved and restored as snapshots. The app includes ten interface languages and a command-line tool that scripts or AI agents can use to inspect and modify fences, rules, and settings. PecoFence is a native Rust application, with its settings window using the WebView2 runtime included with Windows 11. It is intended to make a crowded desktop easier to organize while retaining access to the original files.
