About PingDD

PingDD is a cross-platform TCP connectivity test tool. Unlike a traditional ICMP ping, it checks whether a specific TCP port on a remote server is reachable. It reports whether the connection succeeds and how long the TCP handshake takes, giving users an indication of both availability and response time for a particular service. Results can optionally be logged to a CSV file for later comparison or analysis. This makes PingDD useful for administrators and network enthusiasts who need to verify a web service, database, or other port-based endpoint rather than simply checking whether a host responds to ICMP. The tool is written in C and has a command-line interface, so it can be used in scripts or quick diagnostic sessions. The test reflects connectivity to the selected port and does not measure the health of the entire server.
