About prem-down
prem-down converts project files from a professional video-editing application into a form that older versions of the same editor can open. It can work on one project or on a complete Production, so a collection of related projects can be handled together. The purpose is compatibility across editor versions: when a project was saved in a newer release, this utility attempts to downgrade its file structure for an earlier release. The supplied description does not specify which versions are compatible, what project elements may be altered, or whether every effect and media reference is preserved. It is a project-file conversion tool, not a video renderer or general media transcoder.
