About rus-zip
rus-zip is a desktop and command-line archive utility for working with compressed files. It supports its native .zrus format as well as ZIP, RAR, 7z, GZ and TAR.GZ archives, making it useful for opening several common archive types from one tool. The desktop interface provides a graphical way to work with archives, while the command-line interface supports terminal-based workflows. The application separates archive extraction from archive creation: decompression remains available, while compression requires a valid license. This distinction matters when choosing it for routine archive work, since opening supported files does not require the same entitlement as creating compressed archives. rus-zip is built with Avalonia and is described as cross-platform. Its native format and broad archive support give it both a format of its own and compatibility with established archive types.
