About Service Permissions Reporter BETA
Service Permissions Reporter displays Windows service and Service Control Manager permissions in a readable graphical format. It provides an alternative to examining raw SDDL strings from built-in command-line tools, making access-control information easier to interpret. The application can query services on the local or remote computers and copy the SDDL representation of a service’s permissions to the clipboard for use with other tools. It can also show permissions assigned to the Service Control Manager itself. The product is described as a beta release, so features may be incomplete or change. Service Permissions Reporter is intended for administrators auditing service access. The evidence establishes read-oriented permission inspection and copying SDDL, but does not describe changing permissions. Its value is making service security descriptors easier to review without requiring users to interpret SDDL directly.
