About Sherwood
Sherwood displays Modbus registers from slave devices using Modbus RTU or TCP/IP. In addition to viewing register values, it lets users build a simple supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system around Modbus equipment. Modbus RTU supports serial communication, while TCP/IP carries Modbus traffic over a network. Viewing registers can help technicians observe values exposed by connected devices; the SCADA capability extends that workflow toward a basic monitoring system for equipment. Sherwood is intended for engineers and technicians working with Modbus-based devices who need both register viewing and simple supervisory monitoring. It supports Windows and the two common Modbus transport types.
