About SimSat Studio
SimSat Studio generates simulated satellite imagery from WRF model output. It can produce visible true-color, infrared, water-vapor, GeoColor, and derived products through a desktop application, command-line interface, or Python bindings. The renderer models what a geostationary satellite would observe from a weather-model simulation. The supplied description covers terrain shading and seasonal ground colors, solar illumination and twilight, volumetric clouds with multiple scattering, water-surface sun glint, and synthetic thermal infrared. These elements combine model fields with a physically based rendering workflow to create satellite-style imagery. The product is for research and visualization; its images represent a simulation, not direct satellite observations or official forecasts.
