About Spotify CLI
Spotify CLI is a command-line interface for interacting with Spotify from a terminal. It gives users a way to perform supported service actions without opening a graphical client, and its concise output is intended to work well in command-line workflows and scripts. This makes the tool suitable for users who prefer keyboard-driven access or want to include service operations in a terminal-based process. The client uses OAuth Authorization Code with PKCE to authorize account access and stores credentials in a configured credential backend. OAuth lets an application request access through a delegated sign-in flow, while PKCE adds a verifier step to that authorization process. Spotify CLI’s command availability depends on the client’s supported operations and the permissions granted to the account.
