About TestMyLogic
TestMyLogic evaluates crypto trading strategies for signs of overfitting. It runs a strategy across a parameter grid and uses statistical methods to assess whether the apparent performance may be specific to the historical data used. The tool combines probability of backtest overfitting (PBO), walk-forward analysis, and trade diagnostics to examine results from different angles. The application downloads public market history and runs its bundled backtest engine locally. Walk-forward analysis examines how a strategy performs across sequential portions of the data, while PBO estimates the risk that a strategy’s apparent success is an artifact of testing many parameter combinations. Trade diagnostics provide additional information about the individual results. The tool is intended to help users scrutinize a strategy’s historical performance rather than treating a single backtest score as proof of a reliable edge. TestMyLogic runs on the user’s machine, and an optional MCP connection allows an AI client to drive the application. It is focused on validation and diagnostics for crypto strategies. Its calculations can inform evaluation of a backtest, but they do not guarantee future trading performance.
