About Textractor
Textractor is an open-source text-hooking tool for Windows video games. Text hooking captures text generated within a game so it can be accessed separately from the game’s visual display. This can be useful in workflows where players or translators need to work with game text outside the normal on-screen presentation. Textractor supports x86 and x64 games and is described for Windows 7 and later, as well as Wine. Its role is specialized: it extracts or exposes text from games rather than modifying gameplay or serving as a general screen reader. The product is built around the text-hooking task and targets people who need access to text produced by compatible games.
