About UltraVNC
UltraVNC is remote desktop software with a server and a viewer, allowing one computer’s screen to be displayed on another. The computer being accessed runs the server component, while the person connecting to it uses the viewer or client. This arrangement lets someone see a remote desktop and interact with it through their own computer. The connection uses the Remote Frame Buffer protocol, commonly abbreviated RFB and associated with VNC. Along with viewing the remote screen, the client can send mouse and keyboard input, so the remote computer can be operated from the local one. The remote session is intended to make it possible to work with the other computer as though sitting in front of it. UltraVNC supports desktop sharing over a network or the internet. Its two-part setup reflects the roles in a remote session: the server shares the desktop, and the viewer accesses and controls that shared desktop. This can support remote access to a computer when the user and the machine are in different locations, provided that the server and client sides are set up for the connection.
