About Unified Remote Server
Unified Remote Server lets users turn a smartphone into a remote control for a computer. It provides the server-side software that connects a desktop system with a mobile device, allowing the phone to control the computer remotely. A phone-based remote can be useful when a user is away from the keyboard, such as when presenting media or interacting with a computer across a room. The server component makes the computer available to the companion remote-control experience. Unified Remote Server is intended for people who want to control their computer from a smartphone. Its role is providing the desktop side of that remote-control connection.
