About Vacuon
Vacuon is a Windows disk-space analyzer that reads the NTFS Master File Table directly to index files quickly, with a Windows API fallback where direct reading is unavailable. It can index large file collections and show disk usage as a treemap, where each rectangle’s size corresponds to the space occupied by a file or folder. Images and videos are shown as thumbnails in six sizes, helping users identify large media files before opening them. The tool can find files with identical content and set items aside in a restorable quarantine. Deletion goes to the Recycle Bin by default; permanent deletion requires an additional confirmation. A protection list prevents removal of the volume root, Windows, System32, and kernel-owned files. Vacuon also supports rule-based cleanup. Its combination of disk analysis, duplicate detection, and guarded deletion helps users understand what occupies storage before acting.
