About VE Power Setup
VE Power Setup updates firmware on supported products that can be reached through a VE.Can communication port. It provides a computer-based way to install firmware updates for compatible charging, monitoring, and communications equipment. Firmware updates can add or improve device behavior and maintain compatibility within a larger energy system. Supported equipment includes solar chargers, a networked shunt, battery chargers, communication interfaces, and a control device. The shared requirement is that the product be updateable through VE.Can. This makes the utility relevant to service and maintenance workflows where a compatible device needs its firmware brought to a newer version. VE Power Setup has a focused role: it updates firmware for supported equipment over the specified communication connection. Before using it, the user needs to identify whether the device belongs to the compatible product families and can be reached through VE.Can. It is not a general-purpose configuration tool for every product in an energy installation.
