About Vial
Vial is a graphical configuration tool for keyboards powered by QMK firmware. It allows users to configure a compatible keyboard through a visual interface and see changes take effect in real time. This provides an alternative to editing configuration files and rebuilding firmware for every adjustment. The application is designed for keyboard configuration, with the connected keyboard serving as the device being adjusted. Real-time changes make it practical to experiment with settings and immediately check their effect. Vial is available as a cross-platform application for Windows, Linux, and Mac, so keyboard users can work with the same configuration interface across those desktop systems. Vial is related to a fork of QMK, the keyboard firmware project on which supported devices rely. Compatibility therefore depends on the keyboard and firmware configuration. Its purpose is to provide a graphical way to manage QMK-powered keyboards, rather than to act as a general-purpose input-device manager.
