About VistaCare
VistaCare is a Windows tray application that dims every monitor by adjusting the GPU gamma ramp. Because this adjustment is applied at the display-output stage, it dims interface elements such as the cursor, taskbar, Start menu and full-screen applications along with the rest of the screen. This avoids placing a separate overlay over the image. A tray slider, brightness presets and global hotkeys provide ways to adjust the dimming. Users can pause the effect and configure it to start automatically in the evening. The controls make it possible to set a preferred level and switch dimming on or off without opening a large settings interface. VistaCare is a small standalone application for users who want lower screen brightness than their monitor’s hardware controls allow. It works across connected monitors using the GPU gamma ramp rather than changing the display’s physical brightness setting.
