About Visual Subst
Visual Subst manages virtual drive letters that point to folders and provides controls for network drives. It adds drive labels and icons, can create virtual drives available to elevated applications, and can restore virtual drives after a reboot. It also provides a way to manage the Recycle Bin behavior for files removed from these drives. This gives users a graphical interface for organizing folder paths as drive-like locations and handling them consistently across sessions. Visual Subst is focused on drive mappings and virtual-drive management, rather than moving or duplicating the underlying folders. The displayed drive structure depends on the mappings and network connections configured by the user.
