About WHONET 2026
WHONET 2026 is a Windows desktop application for managing and analyzing microbiology laboratory data, with a focus on antimicrobial resistance surveillance. Laboratories can use it to examine microbiology results and support surveillance at local and larger scales. It supports 45 languages and includes export to the WHO GLASS data structure, which is used for sharing surveillance information in a defined format. The release includes breakpoint support for specified CLSI and EUCAST bacterial guidelines, including 2026 criteria, as well as veterinary breakpoint materials. Breakpoints are thresholds used to interpret antimicrobial susceptibility measurements, so the applicable guideline matters when analyzing results. WHONET is intended for laboratory and public health data workflows, and its analysis depends on entering data in formats the application can use. The available information describes its surveillance focus and guideline support, but not the full set of analysis functions or laboratory system integrations.
